Teaching Philosophy

Lesson Plan

Hi, I'm Sarah and I am a Junior at the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse.  I am Majoring in Elementary education with a double minor in social studies and early childhood.  This minor will provide me with certification in preschool through grade nine.  I am hoping that will make me very marketable as a teacher.  I am producing this website for one of my college classes called educational media.  This is a media class for teachers, it teaches them how to use all different types of media in the classroom.

I first attended the University of Minnesota Twin Cities where I majored in architecture.  After one semester at the U of M I decided it was not the school for me, and I transferred to the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse.

I decided to go into teaching because I have been involved in teaching for quite some time.  My teaching experience started when I received my water safety instructor certification, I have been teaching swimming lessons for the past four years.  I have also had experience teaching through my job at the LaCrosse Family YMCA where I am a gymnastics coach.  I have enjoyed teaching at the Y for the past two and a half years.  At the YMCA I teach children ranging in age from three years old to twelve years old.  Some of my hobbies as you can probably tell are swimming and gymnastics, I also enjoy doing crafts; for example mod-podge and scrapbooking.  Other things I enjoy are spending time with my friends and family and reading.
