I agree with the pragmatism philosophy
of education, but I also agree with some of the parts of the existentialism
and phenomenology philosophy. The following are just a few of my personal
belief statements which are a part of my philosophy of teaching. I believe education is something that starts at birth and continues until death. I believe education is learning socially through living. I believe education is not only done by teachers, but by everyone in your life; for example your grandparents, aunts, and uncles. I believe the school is just the most prominent building where education takes place. I believe the school is not the only place education takes place. I believe the school is a place for a child to grow socially by interacting with others. I believe the subject matter of education should be challenging yet socially important. I believe we should not limit a child’s education with only the original subject matter. I believe the subject matter of education should be the basics, but also include diverse subjects to keep students interested. |
